Hash brown Casserole

Your family will love this delicious beef mix. The frozen brown potatoes are combined with a homemade cheese sauce (i.e., soup), then topped with a casserole with soft, buttery breadcrumbs.

This is an excellent potato casserole served with a great breakfast or brunch, and it also makes a delicious side dish for dinner.

What you will need:

° 1 french fries (frozen southern style, thawed *)

° 5 tablespoons of butter (divided)

° 4 to 6 green onions

° 4 tablespoons flour

° 3/4 cup chicken broth

° 3/4 cup

° Whole milk (or half and half)

° Salt 1/2 tsp

° 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (fresh)

° 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese (grated)

how to make it :

Butter a 1 to 1 1/2-quart casserole. Convection oven up to 350 Fahrenheit

In a skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Add green onions and cook for 1 minute over medium to low heat.

Add flour and stir well. Cook for two minutes. Stir in the broth and chicken gradually.

Cook constantly until thick and bubbly. Add salt, pepper, potato and cheese. Spoon in prepared baking dish.

Put the breadcrumbs in a bowl. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Drizzle on breadcrumbs and toss to mix.

Sprinkle breadcrumbs with butter on a casserole dish.

Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until hot, sour and topping.
