Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs

Ingredients:

3 pounds pork side ribs (approximately 2 racks of ribs)
2 (12-ounce) cans root beer
2 cups prepared barbecue sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions:

1. Begin by removing the silver skin from the back of the ribs. Use the back of a spoon to gently slide underneath the silver skin, then grip it with your fingers and peel it off.

2. Sprinkle the ribs generously with salt and pepper, ensuring even coverage.
3. Place the seasoned ribs in a 6-quart slow cooker, arranging them in a single layer.
4. Pour the root beer over the ribs, ensuring they are fully covered.
5. Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 5 hours or on high for 3 hours.
6. Once the cooking time is complete, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and set them aside on a plate. Discard the liquid remaining in the slow cooker.

7. Return the ribs to the slow cooker and add the barbecue sauce, ensuring all the ribs are coated thoroughly.

8. Cook the ribs on high for an additional hour. This step allows the sauce to infuse into the meat and enhances the flavors.

Serving Tips

Gently remove the ribs from the slow cooker, taking care not to let them fall apart. Serve the mouthwatering root beer pork ribs alongside the sauce, and enjoy the irresistible combination of tender meat and flavorful sauce.
