Texas Toast Sloppy

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
8 slices Texas toast
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato soup, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until thickened.
Place the Texas toast slices on a baking sheet. Top each slice with the sloppy joe mixture and then with the shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve immediately.
