This is recipe I got from my mom years ago – it’s amazing .
* ingredients :
° 1 pound lean ground beef
° 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
° 1 tablespoon dried parsley
° 1 tsp grated cheese Parmesan
° Half tsp black pepper
° Half a teaspoon of garlic powder
° 1 scrambled egg
° cup chopped onion
° 5 cloves minced garlic
° Half a cup of olive oil
° 2 (28 oz) cans whole, peeled tomatoes
° 2 teaspoons salt
° 1 teaspoon white sugar
° 1 bay leaf
° 1 can of tomato paste (6 ounces)
° ¾ teaspoon dried basil
° Half teaspoon ground black pepper
* Directions :
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parsley, Parmesan, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, garlic powder, and beaten eggs. Mix well to form 12 balls. Covering refrigerator to needed.
Step 2 In a large saucepan, fry the onions and garlic with olives over medium heat until translucent. Add tomatoes, salt, sugar and bay leaf. Put the lid on, reduce the heat and simmer for 90 minutes. Add tomato sauce, basil, ½ teaspoon pepper and meatballs, and simmer for another 30 minutes.
