  • Red beans

  • Onion

  • Carrots

  • Garlic

  • Curry powder

  • Chilli flakes (optional)

  • Paprika

  • Cinnamon sticks

  • Benny

  • Knorrox cubes

  • Steak and chops spice (optional)

  • Coarse coriander (optional)

  • Mixed herbs

  • Origanum

  • Tomato paste

Red speckled beans

I didn’t soak mine I just cooked. It took an hour and 30 minutes to soften the way I wanted


Fry your onions with garlic
Add your spices
Add your beef
Make sure your meat is well coated with the spices
Allow to cook until there’s no liquid left

Then add 2 cups of water with knorrox cube
Close lid and allow to cook until all the liquid runs out
Check to see if your meat is tender if not add more water and cook further
When your meat is cooked to perfection and your carrots
Add your origanum and mixed herbs

Add the beans to your beef,stir thoroughly
Lower your heat and allow to cook for at least 7 minutes.
Remove all cinnamon sticks
Allow to cool

I served this with steamed bread.
